It was a great privilege and pleasure to welcome the CEO of Save the Children Switzerland, Mr. Ömer Güven, to his first visit at our programme in Kosovo on June 26th-27th. We are highly grateful to the continuous support that Save the Children in Switzerland offers to our programme, particularly in funding multiple projects implemented nationwide.

A Win for Children and People with Disabilities in Gjakova

This year, the Municipality of Gjakova celebrated June 1st in a much more special way. Marking International Children's day, the new building of the rehabilitation center "HandiKOS" in Gjakova was opened, the construction and operation of which were made possible through the cooperation of Save the Children in Kosovo and the Municipality of Gjakova. Press Conference on Violence Against Children

 
Save the Children in Kosovo was part of a press conference on the publication of the document 'Children without violence, a fundamental right' drafted by the Coalition of NGOs for the Protection of Children - KOMF, and supported by the members of the Thematic Group on Child Protection and Welfare within KOMF, which Save the Children is part of. In addition, Leze Qena, a famous Kosovo actress and part of the KOMF Advocacy Platform “Friends of Children” was also present to address issues on violence against children.

Save the Children in Kosovo completes First Stage of the CRSA

Save the Children in Kosovo successfully kicked off the process of drafting the Country Strategy Plan 2019 – 2021, by completing the first phase of the Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA). The CRSA is a crucial step in the strategy planning process as it provides a baseline assessment of the current state of child rights which allows us to have a more informed analysis of strategic priorities, opportunities and gaps as we create the 3-year Country Strategic Plan.

Save the Children in Kosovo and Handikos give away 6 new wheelchairs for children in Gjakova

Community Based Services for Children with Disabilities Project is Save the Children’s regional initiative in Eurasia, simultaneously implemented in Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (North-West Balkans), Georgia and Kosovo. Financially supported by Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropist, this project aims to support children with disabilities empowering them to develop abilities, practice independence and enjoy inclusion. It also strengthens families and mobilizes communities to endorse quality services for children with disabilities.
