A Win for Children and People with Disabilities in Gjakova

This year, the Municipality of Gjakova celebrated June 1st in a much more special way. Marking International Children's day, the new building of the rehabilitation center "HandiKOS" in Gjakova was opened, the construction and operation of which were made possible through the cooperation of Save the Children in Kosovo and the Municipality of Gjakova. Save the Children in Kosovo completes First Stage of the CRSA

Save the Children in Kosovo successfully kicked off the process of drafting the Country Strategy Plan 2019 – 2021, by completing the first phase of the Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA). The CRSA is a crucial step in the strategy planning process as it provides a baseline assessment of the current state of child rights which allows us to have a more informed analysis of strategic priorities, opportunities and gaps as we create the 3-year Country Strategic Plan.

UK National Portage Association carried out Portage Training with SCiK partner organizations

During October 23-27, the UK National Portage Association carried out Portage Training for 38 participants from three SCiK partner organizations working directly with children with special needs. Portage is primarily a home visiting educational service for pre-school/Kindergarten children and their families that need additional support. An important aspect of this training is to ensure that children that need additional support and their families succeed in achieving their goals.
