Local to Global: Prohibition and Elimination of Corporal Punishment of Children in Kosovo Workshop

Thursday 5 October 2017

From 2-4 of October, we organized a workshop with our partners on the topic of corporal punishment. This workshop gathered representatives from our partner organizations like: Syri I Vizionit, ATRC, KOMF etc. The workshop aimed at increasing our capacities as Save the Children, as well as our partner organizations, so that we can harmonise our efforts on common activities and goals.

During these three days, we discussed about ways we can work together in order to achieve prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children in Kosovo. As a result, we, together with our partners, drafted a 4-year national plan for promoting prohibition and elimination of all corporal punishment of children in Kosovo, in fulfilment of obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and in the new additional context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Save the Children in Kosovo/a will continue to advocate prohibition and elimination of corporal punishment of children in Kosovo, as we consider that every child deserves a childhood without violence.
