Paving the path for better Social Services for the Most Vulnerable Groups

Wednesday 26 July 2017

Save the Children in Kosovo, in partnership with the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research, has begun implementing the project “Support for Better Social Services for the Most Vulnerable Groups,” seeking to contribute to an effective transformation of the social service system in Kosovo for improved quality and availability of the local social and community based services for children and vulnerable people living at social risk. The project aims to offer a comprehensive solution to the decentralisation process in community based social service delivery in Kosovo, while fostering a collaborative operation among central, municipal and non-state actors towards this aim.

The project aims to do so through two components:

1.Technical assistance for establishment of sustainable partnerships and increased capacities for community based social service delivery; and

2.Financial support to third parties, for improved community based, essential social service provision for the vulnerable communities

Funded by the European Union and managed by the European Union Office in Kosovo, it also aims to enhance the capacities of social service providers, institutions, municipalities, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, and civil society organization to deliver effective and targeted social services for the most vulnerable groups in our society, by increasing the availability, quality and sustainability of essential and expanded social services for children and persons at social risk.

The project will be implemented until September 2019, contributing to significantly increasing the capacities of national and local level institutions, as well as licensed social service providers, overall improving social services for children and persons at social risk.
