Advancing Inclusive Policies for Children’s right to participate, learn and be protected in Kosovo: A Collaborative Effort

A recent joint meeting with Line Ministries and Municipal Directorates convened with the goal of deepening collaboration among partners in formulating inclusive, quality, safe, and participatory policies and practices to ensure that every child enjoys their rights to learn, be safe, and participate fully. The meeting resulted in significant insights and outlined key steps toward achieving these paramount objectives.

The anticipated outcomes included the presentation of Save the Children Kosovo (SCiK) programs, projects, and initiatives, along with the unveiling of work plans and future steps. Additionally, plans from the governmental partners were presented, focusing on areas such as Vocational Education and Training. Experiences in delivering integrated and quality services at the municipal level were also exchanged.

The meeting commenced with a comprehensive presentation on various aspects, plans for Early Childhood Care, Development and Education, as well as projects aimed at improving access and quality in these areas. Presentations also covered vocational education and training policies and plans from the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AAAPARr) and Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo (APRK), as well as initiatives focused on empowering vulnerable communities and inclusive education and employment for children and youth with disabilities.

Discussions were open and multifaceted, addressing achievements, challenges, and opportunities in education, training, professional reintegration, and social protection. Municipalities also shared their experiences and insights regarding achievements, challenges, and opportunities in education, early childhood care, and social protection.

Overall, the meeting facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas, experiences, and strategies among stakeholders, fostering enhanced collaboration and concerted action toward ensuring the well-being and development of every child in Kosovo. Through such collaborative efforts, the path toward a more inclusive and prosperous future for all children is illuminated.
